Image by jocke66 via Flickr I just had to add this quick little, off the cuff, blog post because I saw a Tweet come from SuperMomz and wow, they do a great job at maximizing their revenue streams, so much that I may have to “steal” a couple of their ideas.
Check out their advertising page on and see if you can count how many ways they are bringing in a few extra bucks a month by doing what they are already doing! Now, if they only added one more revenue stream by adding the Tubby Bundle..hint hint…
Really, they are offering buttons, ezine, product reviews, PACKING SLIP advertising.. these are all things that anyone with a small business can do.
What makes this even better? They offer AFFORDABLE options to the average small business owner. There is nothing I detest more then watching small home based business owners grasping at straws to get their business name out there and end up going into debt to pay thousands of dollars for a magazine add (and not tracking their hits from it) or even paying hundreds of dollars for the celebrity basket fad when the return on investment is so risky.
The above opportunities will get your business in front of your target market- that is if your target market is the same as SuperMomz who I would assume to be middle age women that are already shopping online and buying baby/kid related products.
I think this is a wonderful opportunity and I only add one more piece of advice if you were to actually use cross-promotional advertising such as buying placement.
1. Make sure your ad is compelling and remember to answer the customer question “What’s In It For Me”- don’t load up on who you are or what your company does, blah blah blah it’s going to get a once over. Give them a firm look at the benefit your product will give them, problem it will solve.
2. Register or add a subdomain URL, put up good content that builds around the above problem or benefit, do not just send them to your home page- give them excellent pre-selling content.
3. Build your list- you better have an opt-in box, give them a good reason to put their name and email
4. Install Google Analytics on that landing page and build your conversion codes so you can track if it’s worth doing again next month.
Did you realize that I got all this- ideas of new marketing and blog content from one little 140 character tweet? You better be thinking about trying it out, you can check out my Twitter for Beginners Special Report to get started today!
